The Negative Impact of Gadgets for Children

The negative impact of gadgets for children include the potential to cause behavioral disorders, obesity, sleep disorders, and harmful to the brain.

Impact of gadgets

Gadgets, whether it’s mobile phones, tablets, to laptops, are items that are difficult to separate from everyday life. This tool is also familiar to children. From elementary school children to kindergarten though, many have their own gadgets.

Behind the benefits and entertainment they get, do you know that there are many negative effects of gadgets for children?

The dangers of gadgets for children are generally related to their impact on children’s health, both physically and mentally. For example, unrestricted use of smartphones by parents can lead to addiction.

The negative impact of this smartphone certainly has a negative impact on children’s mental health. As a parent, you must be aware of these dangers.

As mentioned earlier, the negative impact of gadgets on children can be seen from two aspects, namely children’s physical and mental health.

Here are some explanations about the negative impact of using gadgets on children on these two aspects.

1. Potential Impact of Gadgets cause behavioral disorders

The dangers of cellphones for children have the potential to cause behavioral disorders. A study in Japan involving 1,642 grade 1 elementary school children tried to find a relationship between the use of smartphone technology and the development of children’s behavior.

The results of this study indicate that the use of gadgets regularly and frequently is associated with behavioral problems in childhood.

The unrestricted use of gadgets also makes children vulnerable to pornography which also has the potential to cause behavioral disorders in children.

2. Potential Impact of Gadgets cause gadget addiction

Reporting from Anadolu Agency (AA), many Indonesian children suffer from mental disorders due to gadget addiction.

AA also reported that gadget addiction was experienced by around 25 percent of patients from the pediatric polyclinic at a hospital in Bogor, West Java, in 2019. As a parent, you need to anticipate the influence of gadgets on this child.

If your child shows the characteristics of gadget addiction, such as excessive use of gadgets every day, angry when asked to stop or have their gadget taken, to show aggressive behavior, you should immediately take the child to a psychologist to find a solution.

3. Potential to experience cyber bullying

Talking about the dangers of cellphones, many people often forget about social media. In fact, this is where all kinds of dangers lurk for children, from the threat of pedophilia to cyber bullying. All of these can take a toll on your child’s mental health.

Therefore, you must explain the negative impact of gadgets on this child so that they can avoid it. You can also turn on the parental control feature to monitor the use of gadgets in children.

4. Potential to cause sleep disturbances

One of the negative effects of playing cellphones for too long for children is the disruption of the little one’s sleep.

Unrestricted use of gadgets can cause children to stay up late, be it playing games, chatting with friends, or accessing social media.

If this condition continues, the child’s physical health can be disrupted. They can get tired easily, feel tired all day, forget easily, and find it difficult to learn.

The negative impact of gadgets on children also triggers various mental problems, such as anxiety and depression.

5. Potential to cause obesity

A study conducted in the United States showed that children who spend time in front of a gadget screen for five hours or more every day, have a greater tendency to consume sugary drinks and rarely do physical activity.

The study found that children who used gadgets on a daily basis had a 43 percent increased risk of obesity, compared to children who did not use gadgets at all.

You need to be aware of the negative impacts of using HP or other gadgets. If allowed to continue, it is not impossible obesity can occur and threaten the health of children.

6. Potentially harmful to the child’s brain

The human brain is considered sensitive to electromagnetic radiation so that items that emit electromagnetic waves such as gadgets are considered dangerous, especially for children.

Electromagnetic waves emitted by gadgets are considered to be able to interfere with children’s brain activity so that it has a negative impact on their learning abilities and has the potential to cause behavioral disorders.

Parents need to consider the various positive and negative impacts of gadgets on children. This is done so that they can take advantage of the gadget and avoid its negative impact.

If your child is already addicted to gadgets or the habit of using the gadget can’t be stopped, you should take them to a child psychologist to get the right treatment.…

Competition is very Beneficial for the Child’s Development Period

The benefits of participating in a competition with healthy competition include enabling children to learn about themselves and parents to identify and guide the child’s personality.

Competition

Opinions about introducing healthy competition to children from an early age are quite diverse. Some said that the benefits of participating in competitions for children were numerous, including giving real-life lessons about winning and losing, while others felt that competition could have a negative impact on their little one’s growth and development.

The experience of each child and parent regarding competitions conducted from an early age can indeed be different. Basically, it depends on the approach of the parents and the adults around them on how to introduce competition to their children.

There are a number of benefits that children can get by participating in competitions, such as:

1. Children can learn about themselves with Competition

By competing, children will be able to know each other’s strengths and weaknesses. When experiencing defeat, children can also know how to deal with the negative emotions they feel due to defeat and loss.

In addition, children can also learn to increase self-esteem (self-esteem) and most importantly, can overcome fear and dare to face challenges. Children will learn to motivate themselves to overcome obstacles, and to be calm and effective under pressure.

Children will also learn that doing their best in a competition can provide a pleasant feeling. This can encourage children to be more courageous and face challenges more often, in order to enjoy these positive feelings.

2. Parents can identify and guide the child’s personality

By observing children, you will find out how they deal with problems. Even if your child doesn’t say something, you can understand how they solve problems and spot something wrong.

If you find your child looking scared, upset, unsportsmanlike or unmotivated, then this is an opportunity to advise your child to have a better mentality when facing challenges.

This can also be a time for parents to learn to provide appropriate support for their child, thereby encouraging learning without harming their child’s self-esteem. Parents must also learn not to teach their children to compete for acceptance and love from their own families.

3. Strengthen the bond between children and parents

The benefit of participating in the next competition is that it makes children learn a lot about relationships. You can help your child learn about sportsmanship, so that communication between parent and child can improve.

The child’s ability to deal with victory and defeat well can also replace sibling rivalry with love and empathy.

Comforting each other when they don’t win, celebrating victories together, and providing encouragement will strengthen the emotional bond between parent and child that can last a lifetime.

4. Children learn positive values gained through competition

When schools hold friendly competitions, this has been proven to increase curiosity in children. In addition, the benefits of participating in competitions will also be able to make children learn about:

Introspect yourself to find a solution instead of blaming others
Effective communication and cooperation
Endurance and perseverance
Unique skills according to the type of task, game, exam or sport being performed.

5. Children learn to cope with stress

Stress can be felt not only by adults, but also by children. The way children react to victory or defeat can be good or bad, depending on the motivation that adults provide.

Competitions that are child-friendly and not too competitive can be chosen to help prepare them for various difficulties that may occur in the future.…

Parenting Patterns and Their Influence on Development

Parenting is a process in which parents nurture and educate children from birth to adulthood. This can affect a child’s physical, emotional, social and intellectual development.

Parenting

Many studies have examined the impact of parenting on children’s lives in adulthood. Because, this is considered to have a crucial role in the growth and development of children, especially at an early age.

In general, a positive parenting style will also produce a positive impact. Positive parenting is described with warmth, but still has boundaries so that parent-child relationships are well established.

Different types of parenting

Talking about what parenting is, the notion of parenting is the process in which parents nurture and educate children from birth to adulthood. This can affect a child’s physical, emotional, social and intellectual development.

Parenting usually displays two characteristics that focus on the demands of the child and the response of the parents to the child.

Here are the various parenting styles that you need to know.

Authoritative parenting

Authoritative parenting is also known as democratic parenting. In this parenting pattern, two-way communication is established between parents and children.

The character of authoritative parenting is a balance between being assertive, but also warm and supportive. Children are given strict boundaries and rules, but with clear explanations and reasons why these rules must be obeyed.

In this parenting style, parents are quite involved in the life of the child. They are willing to listen and consider the child’s feelings, and encourage him to be independent in making decisions.

While authoritative parenting styles tend to be assertive, they are unobtrusive and restrictive. The discipline method used is to support, rather than punish.

Authoritarian parenting

In authoritarian parenting, parents have a high level of control over their children, but are not responsive.

The character of authoritarian parenting is to apply strict rules without explaining the reasons behind the rules. When children fail to follow these rules, usually parents will give punishment

Authoritarian parents tend to control life and emphasize their power over their children. Most importantly, children must obey them.

They demand that the child makes no mistakes, but provides some direction on what to do or avoid.

Permissive

The next types of parenting are permissive. Permissive parenting is characterized by low demands on children and high parental responses to children.

Parents with this parenting style are warm and caring, but tend to be weak in applying rules and discipline to their children. Instead of being role models, they act more like friends.

That’s why permissive parents rarely enforce rules and boundaries. They do not control their children’s behavior and very rarely give strict punishments, and you can even say they tend to always obey their children’s wishes.

This parenting style tends to make children have a lot of freedom and not get supervision.

Ignorant

The character of the negligent parenting style is the absence of demands and responses from parents towards their children.

In this parenting style, they are not involved in the child’s life and do not want to know about the child’s needs. It is characterized by few demands, low response, and very little communication.

Parents with negligent parenting also do not apply rules or boundaries, do not meet the emotional needs of their children, and expect their children to take care of themselves.…

Forethought and Training Makes Managers

Forethought and Training Makes Managers

Senior management in every industry is well-known for setting-up our best skilled workers for failure. It is as if we are specifically trying to sabotage our own companies by reducing the workforce skill level and using poor management to try to fix it. A fancy new title and a raise does not a manger make. A top-notch management selection process and training program is the only road to ensure future success.

Leaders Make Great Managers:

The best worker does not make the best manager, the natural-born leader does. Though scholars continue to argue the finer details, it is widely accepted that “leaders are born and managers are made.” Leaders are followed. The directives of Managers are carried out. The Leader is the person spreading news from the grapevine, teaching trade tricks, and from whom co-workers seek advice. At breaks, the Leader can be found telling “there I was” stories with an attentive audience and organizing the weekend fishing trip or bar bash. The Manager is the person given that title by executives to be in charge of people, projects, and money.

In theory, anyone can be taught to manage well. Managers can be taught efficiency, organization, project flow, and even to earn the respect of those they manage. Managers, as the theory goes, cannot be taught how to lead. Though it is possible that the best worker is also a natural leader, this is rarely the case. Instead of looking to the firm’s best workers to serve in open management roles, consider promoting and training the natural leader. Management selection processes should begin pre-hire with an eye on identifying potential leaders. These employees should then be observed in their current role for signs of leadership and future advancement.

Tiered Management Structures:

Think large when developing the structure of management. All large companies were once small. So, instead of waiting until the company is large and then having to revamp the entire reporting chain; develop the structure at the outset. It is better to have a structure with unfilled positions, or those not currently needed in the smaller organization, then it is to remodel the entire structure at a later date to adapt it to the growing firm.

In some industries, the lowest level of management is the Shift Manager, Department Director, or Section Chief. In construction, we refer to this position as Foreman, Job Supervisor, or Superintendent. Each firm must chose these titles carefully and the reporting hierarchy with which they are associated. For the purposes of this article, let’s assume that the person who manages workers directly is called the Department Manager (DM). The Department Manager keeps the work flowing, assigns tasks, coordinates with other departments, ensures items are in-stock, and briefs the client, all while still working alongside their subordinates to facilitate the day’s activities. Department Managers report to the person who manages a number of departments, a position that is primarily office and paperwork intensive, usually called the General Manager (GM). GMs, in turn, report to a member of the Executive Staff, usually the Chief Operating Officer (COO).

It is not uncommon to further break up the management levels of DM and GM into subcategories. For example, the DM category could be sub-divided into: Junior Department Manager, Department Manager, and Senior Department Manager. A Junior DM may be the term used to describe a new entry into the management ranks who works under the direction of a DM or Senior DM. A DM would be an experienced manger with a bigger workforce and larger job assignments. Finally, a Senior DM would have the most experience at assisting with employee training, x-large projects, and those jobs requiring specialized skills or in dealing with detail-oriented clients. The Senior DM would likely run the largest or most complex department. The GM ranks could be similarly divided.

It is also wise to have pre-management positions that introduce potential entrants to the ranks without the accompanying official responsibilities. Thus, an Assistant Department Manager would serve as a normal crew member most of the time; but would be available to take over a portion of the project as needed by the DM. Additionally, they will fill-in as acting DM when the DM is on vacation or off work for personal reasons.

Management Training is Essential:

The most successful restaurant-chain in world history, McDonald’s, is the brunt of many jokes. They are, however, so successful because they are experts. Not only are they experts at “flipping burgers,” their world-renowned Hamburger University is a benchmark for educating management trainees on operation procedures, customer service, cleanliness, and business development. Similarly, Disney, United Parcel Service (UPS), Dell, and many others have been recognized as best-in-class for management and/or customer service training.

Unfortunately, many other industries have the opposite distinction. They are recognized …

Yoga Teacher Training for Diabetes

Yoga Teacher Training for Diabetes

When you attend a 200-hour yoga certification course, you are often trained to work with athletic types. After a yoga instructor begins teaching, he or she addresses the most common health problems. Sooner, or later, an instructor will have a student who is a diabetic. If you didn’t cover special populations and ailments in your foundational teacher training, it’s no problem, but now is the time to work on your continuing education. Just so we’re clear, continuing education is part of keeping your mind active for life and there is no one course with all the answers to the puzzles of life.

What are the best postures we can teach to diabetics? Flowing sequences come to mind first, but not every diabetic is ready to begin practicing Sun Salutations (surya namaskars) and vinyasa sequences from the start. These means, we have to research, consult a mentor, and possibly modify the routines we learned at foundational training. Depending on the health of your student, all asanas may have to be modified by using a chair and establishing a restorative practice.

Diabetes is a serious disease that affects the way the body metabolizes food. Diabetics don’t produce adequate amounts of insulin for cells to be able to take in the glucose that our bodies produce. This incurable disease lasts a lifetime. Although it can be controlled through proper diet, exercise and medication, there is nothing that patients can do to eliminate the disease. If it isn’t treated properly, diabetes can lead to other health concerns, such as cardiovascular disease, kidney damage, nerve damage or gangrene. People with diabetes can, however, live a normal, healthy life.

Today, more and more people are being diagnosed with Type II Diabetes, which means the body isn’t producing enough insulin. There is a common perception that the most common reason why people get Type II is often due to poor diet, obesity and a lifestyle that doesn’t include exercise. This is not always true, you could be fit, lean, eat right, and still have Type II. So, let’s avoid stereotyping because anyone can become a diabetic. Walking, surya namaskars, and a regular yoga routine can usually help eliminate many of the causes and symptoms of diabetes. The gentle nature of asanas and the deep breathing included with the poses can result in lower blood pressure, better digestion, weight loss, and an overall healthier body.

My suggestions for any asana are modify when needed. If you never learned to teach with props, you should take a continuing education course that will help your skills. Yoga teacher training courses can cover the full spectrum of special needs that our students have. Here are three of my favorite asanas for diabetics, but there are many more to choose from.

Downward Facing Dog

Begin on all fours, with palms flat on the mat, fingers spread, and the hands below the shoulders. Push up and back, creating an inverted ‘V’ with your body. Heels can rest flat on the mat, or be raised off the mat a bit. Pull the belly in, push down into the mat with your hands, and point the tailbone up towards the ceiling.

Big Toe Pose

Stand with feet shoulder width apart. Slowly bend from the hips, lowering the head toward the thighs. It’s okay to keep a slight bend in the knees. Reach your hands down to grab your big toes with the thumb and forefingers of each hand. Release the head and neck, allowing the weight of your upper body to pull you into a deep stretch.

Triangle Pose

Stand with feet wider than shoulder width on the mat, toes pointing forward. Turn one foot about 90 degrees, keeping the other foot pointing forward. Keeping the hips squared forward, raise both arms to shoulder height. Slowly lower the upper body to the side of the body with the turned-out toes. Bend from the waist and reach with your arms. Place the bottom hand next to the foot, rest it on the calf, or use a block for support. Reach the opposite arm up toward the ceiling. If it’s comfortable on your neck, turn your gaze up toward the ceiling.

Conclusion

As a yoga instructor, nobody expects you to have all the answers, but you should maintain contact with a source or a mentor. Don’t make false promises and make sure you do diligent research before you work with yoga students who have special needs. There are many circumstances that can contribute to any ailment. As a yoga teacher, it’s important to keep your students safe.

Tax Breaks From Hiring the Unemployed

Tax Breaks From Hiring the Unemployed

One of the many benefits for businesses that retain consultation from enrolled agents is keeping up with new tax legislation. Knowing about added tax laws permits a business to capture financial advantages. The continuing education enrolled agents complete annually is always updated to changes in the income tax statutes.

Among the important tax laws implemented in 2010, two provide benefits to businesses that hired new employees. Like all matters with the IRS, there are specific rules to follow. This is common ground for tax professionals with enrolled agent certification. Obtaining beneficial tax treatment often requires professional assistance to understand the rules. From the beginning of preparation for enrolled agent careers there is training to gain familiarity with IRS procedures.

In order to qualify for the employee tax breaks, a business must have a new employee who had previously worked fewer than 40 total hours during the 60 days prior to being hired. In addition, hiring relatives for employment doesn’t qualify for the tax breaks. A business can’t terminate an existing employee in order to hire a new one simply to claim the credit. But the tax break is available to businesses replacing voluntarily departed employees or those terminated for cause.

Otherwise, there are no other restrictions. Workers are not required to have even been previously employed. A business is eligible for the tax breaks from hiring a recent college graduate with no employment history. The hired workers can even be former employees who were part of a previous lay off-as long as they were unemployed for 60 days.

The first tax advantage is that employers may offset their portions of Social Security tax on the wages of an eligible new employee. This covers wages paid from March 19 to December 31 of 2010. The employee share of Social Security tax is still withheld from wages and remitted by employers. Businesses who failed to correctly account for this benefit when filing quarterly wage reports can amend them to receive a refund.

The second tax break allows a business credit for each new worker still employed after one year. The employee’s wages must have not decreased significantly during the year. The credit is the lower of $1,000 or 6.2 percent of the employee’s wages. Since eligible employees hired in 2010 will complete one year of service in 2011, this tax credit is captured on 2011 tax returns filed in 2012.

Action was required before the end of 2010 in order to receive these tax breaks. But many business that added staff during that year are not aware of the tax legislation or how to capture the benefits. Business that find an enrolled agent have assurance of gaining from these new laws and all other types of tax advantages.

A great tip that will help you succeed in college is to carefully plan out your course load each semester. You don’t want to get overzealous and pick way too many hard classes at once. You’ll barely be able to keep up, and you won’t be capable of submitting your best work.

Avoid studying for big college exams the night before by taking in a lot of caffeine or other stimulants. While these things can keep you up and able to study for longer, they will make you very tired in the morning. After using chemical stimulants for a while, you will need more and more and that can be damaging to your overall physical and mental health.

Know as much as you can about the career you’d like to get into before even applying for college. You will know that the college that you are going to has the classes that will best prepare you for that career. Make sure you will get the choice you signed up for, and make sure you have a contingency plan in place if you chose a single room but end up in a quad.

Stick to your studies. College can be a fun time, with lots of new experiences, but it’s crucial to remember why you’re there. Take the time to ask teachers and other students for help, and make sure you get your homework done when you need to so that your grades stay strong.

After you sign up for a checking account, make sure that you do not leave without getting the free checks that most establishments offer. Do not pay for extras. Approaches To Homeschooling Which Guarantee Future Happiness

People are constantly learning new and exciting things throughout their lives. School is a way to learn, but parents are often the best teachers. Homeschooling is not always easy, but the information in this article will help you to be the teacher your child needs in their learning journey.

Homeschooling an older child while also caring for a baby can be especially difficult. To perform this combination, you should set aside individual times on the calendar for each child involved. You need to be searching for age appropriate activities consistently. Any activity that doesn’t interfere with development is a great idea.

Kids are full of energy and do not have very long attention spans so keep this in mind when you are homeschooling. Studying or reading for hours on end will leave them tired and bored, and it takes the fun out of learning. Let your children take a few breaks during the day and allow them to go run outside. Not only will this do them good, it will for you, too.

Plan field trips and activities with other homeschooling families near you. This will be fun, but will also provide essential socialization for the kids. You can also take advantage of group discount rates at different places you go to by doing this.

2. Initiative. Take leadership. Find out what you are good at, then go for a credible education course in that field, whether an MBA or a diploma or a license.

3. If you do possess a license or certification, do not let it lapse. Most institutes require continuing education courses. They are relatively inexpensive, and it is a great way to network with like-educated professionals.

4. Make sure you are graduating from a credible, well recognized institution. Even if it means more tuition. Most employers will subsidize your courses and books. It is worth it to be part of an reputable and accepted institution.

5. There are groups that you could belong to. They are found in business and social networking sites like LinkedIn and Facebook. Join as many as you can manage. This will broaden not only your education but your network and give you insights into how yoru profession is using the education in a practical field.

6. Depending upon your lifestyle, sometimes weekend study courses may be best. Yes it will detract you from lounging in the chair, watching football and drinking beer, but your sacrifice for a few weeks will be worth it, and last a lifetime in rewards.

7. Get close to the professors and faculty of the institution you are attending. Don’t be a “student”, be a “leader student”. That means volunteering at the school’s events, offering to help the faculty and even coaching juniors.

8. Finish what you started. Sometimes it is tempting to say, “I will skip this semester”. Don’t. It is very hard to get back into the swing of things. The discipline and thought process required for a school is entirely different from that of workplace.
